Photographs by Ki Price Styled by Tara St Hill

Its October 17th 2012 and on route to meet Layla a very talented east end artist I stop Stoke Newington to pick up Tara St Hill a top stylist who styled predominantly for photographer Corrine Day.

The car was weighted to one side with bags of cast iron jewellery, clothes & light stands.

We arrive at Layla's studio off the Pembury Estate in Hackney, a small collective of interesting people and a spraying workshop which gives the place a look like with landed on the moon.

So thats the kit next we headed in Soho to find some interesting cool people to shoot.
Shooting with an assistant and lights in the middle of Soho or anywhere really causes a buzz and some people cant wait to get on board.
If your asking someone to pose it means that your already in the good books.
The whole aim is to make people look great within 2 minutes.
No waffle just straight to the point and blam....

The people below are the ones that really stood out in Soho for their style & and their personalities.

Soho Street Shoot

Photo of Brandy Row - By Ki Price/Sohostreetshoots

Sohostreetshoots was born whilst enjoying a Flat White from www.flatwhitecafe.com  on Berwick St.

I'm a photographer & work with newspapers & a wire agency and mainly specialise news & portraits.

My aim was to find quirky interesting people around Soho and photograph them.

My kit was a Nikon D3s  http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond3s
 and a Nikon 24-70 F2.8.

For Lighting I used a Elinchrom Quadra's and a Deep Throat Octabox.

Stage 1

Meet Arnold -The Assistant
A very special person to work with and full of energy.

The props

Was a two stands and a backdrop with Lemons

The Backdrop was very kindly donated by this man Mr Borovick a third generation fabric shop on Berwick st, www.borovickfabricsltd.co.uk

Our first model was Dee Plume a singer in front of our new backdrop. The reason for the lemons was Berwick st is a well known market for fruit & Veg.

Feeling relieved that our set up was up & some test shots had happened it was time to get as much into the day as possible.

Our next model was Dave who's love for Vivienne Westwood

Our next model was Dave who has an obsessive love for Vivienne Westwood clothes and looks great.
The Octabox with the silver beauty dish attachment lit from the side gives a really nice contrasty light.
Below are bits & pieces from the rest of the day.
